Welcome to The University of Manchester Dance Society!

We are a student-led society giving university students the opportunity to dance alongside their studies, whether they're complete beginners or have been dancing since they were young! The society has over 200 members from the university and surrounding Manchester based universities who take part in what we have to offer. Classes are held each week in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and street. We also have both intermediate and advanced teams in each of the previously mentioned styles, along with lyrical and wildcard.

The society hosts its very own inter-university dance competition every year, last year we had around 25 universities attend and compete in various styles! Alongside this we have two shows, at Christmas and Easter, for our classes and teams to showcase their work - this is a great chance to practice those performance skills!

Throughout the year we have whole society socials on top of the individual team socials, these are always a lot of fun and a great chance to dance like no one is watching! Finally, each year Manchester Dance Society goes on tour! This involves plenty of sun, partying and of course a lot of dancing too!
